Dr. Lovonne Fleming-Richardson, Ph.D., LPCC-S, LCADC-CCS, NCC, RPT, TCM, serves as the Owner and Clinical Director at Appalachian Community Care, LLC. With an impressive educational background, Dr. Fleming-Richardson obtained a dual Bachelor's degree in History/Political Science and Psychology from the University of Pikeville. Additionally, she holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College and a Doctorate in Psychology from Capella University. Dr. Fleming-Richardson is highly qualified and holds various licenses and certifications, including being a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor, National Certified Counselor, Licensed Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor Supervisor, Targeted Case Manager, and a Registered Play Therapist.
My Story
Dr. Fleming-Richardson held the distinction of being among the pioneering Registered Play Therapists in Eastern Kentucky. Throughout her career, Dr. Fleming-Richardson assumed various roles within the Kentucky Board of Play Therapy, including the esteemed position of past president of the board.
Dr. Fleming-Richardson possesses more than 13 years of expertise in providing therapeutic services for both addiction and non-addiction cases. In eastern Kentucky, Dr. Fleming-Richardson successfully established three clinics, two of which specialize in addiction treatment, while the third focuses on behavioral health for both children and adults. Notably, the clinic dedicated to behavioral health includes a play therapy room, catering to the unique needs of its patients.
Dr. Fleming-Richardson, a proud resident of Virgie, Kentucky, firmly believes that the journey of change commences within the confines of our own homes. She strongly advocates for the notion that if Appalachian Community Care, LLC can positively impact even a single life, it has the potential to transform an entire family.
Dr. Fleming-Richardson is from Virgie, Kentucky and is the proud mother of Tyler, her beloved son. Additionally, she is the owner of a delightful canine companion named Moonbeam.
